Moved to BOMBTRUCK!

My blog has moved to http://bombtruck.currant.se/

well, summin things up (as can be read in our disclaimer):

BombTruck is a blog owned and operated by a close-knit group of Swedish gamers. We formed BombTruck because we all had independent blogs (some of us still do) and came to the conclusion that we could just as well collect all our musings in one place.

BombTruck mainly concerns itself with all kinds of games, electronic or not, “videogame culture” and things like that. However, we like to sum up those categories into “AWESOME Rubbish”.

Dreamlards...lords

So, I've had a lot done scince the last time I wrote anything of use for anybody. My final exam is over (with a 200k in debts, but a valuable paper (I hope) with a few notes about me being some kind of Bachelor in Arts, or Computer Science (that's not totally clear yet)). I've got my portfolio up n running too, and I had an interview at Avalanche, did their Game Design Test (finnished yesterday) and I've begun playing Dreamlords, or dreamlards -this was my previous (and very negative) attitude to the game before I ever played it, but that's all changed. I love the browser-part of managing my reign (upgrading, building, researching, etc), the RTS part is mainly boring sadly enough (but I have not yet tested the PvP mode or the Comergence mode). Better yet I'm kind of confused, like 50% of the time, even worse when I picked up CiV for the first time....but still...I don't mind that very much. A low tempo strategy mode (in a browser) and the cost of $9.99 makes up for that. And today I got my dirty paws on "Overlord" so I guess tomarrow will be all about that. In addition to these games I've got some other things to look forward to: like 5 movies. What a blockbuster summer this has become!

500 000 000 people, not one of them me!?

Im so pissed off...I'm down with some kind of flue...the ONE thing I was looking forward to was the FA-final between Chelsea and Manchester.

16.00 hours. 500 000 000 viewers aroiund the globe.

Checking the tv-guide to see when and on what channel this magnificant game would begin I found myself pwnd.

Womens soccer?! From sweden. Prime time. Now WTF is wrong with society?!! 500 000 000 viewers, I really would like to know what stupid bastard came up with this glorius idea to send this piece of crap game instead of the game EVERYONE else in europe is going to see.

A new look and feel

Nordic Game, what is there to tell? Well, first off it's a small Game Convension (approx. 900), not in style with E3 really with tons of monster consoles and games from a large veriety of companies. The general focus is put on a pretty large range of different speakers, from different nordic game producers (remedy, funcom, dice, massive), from foreign countries (Loco Rocos creator, some chick frpm singstar, NC Soft) and even people from the food industry (wtf, Scan!!), tackeling different topics. Well, enough about that. Some things were quite interesting, some things not. My focus shall not be on this. Well a little, but I'll discuss this part later. One fact that has become totally obvious is that PS3 has found its best use: a PowerPointPresentational tool. At least four persons used this hi-def PPP-tool only to present it in SD...cool? Nice they found a use for the machine at least. A really cool thing that caught my eye was the Phantom hardware, some obscure little devteam has created a Haptics engine for games called HaptiX. Without making a big deal I have to say it was totally and utterly cool to "feel" the game for the first time ever. I played Quake 4 with full force feedback, shooting with awesome recoile like never before, lifting crates with my bare hand (the right one) and feeling every bullet hitting me. Now, perhaps this was by far the coolest thing I ever felt, but the coolest thing I ever seen was LGs 3d-tv. It was not hi-def at all because it was a prototype, but they promised it would get sharper as soon as they left the prototype. This was just the tip of the iceberg as the saying goes. As soon as I get the pics and videos loaded up to my computer I'll write some more.

Nordic Game 2007

So a month later and with a lot of more time to spend ranting about this and that I thought perhaps I should write a line or two. My final report is over, my bachelor degree is within my grasp. The past month's I've been visiting/interviewing game producers for IGDI, job hunting, and today I'm setting off to work at Nordic Game 2007. Like I've promised before there will come a réumé of the different game producers workplaces and I'll add som jibbjabb about the NG too. Time to catch my train!

The Shield

A quick note! Vic Mackey, our friendly neighborhood bully is back! Still kind of sad that Lem is dead, but my grieving period is over, I'm ready to face them and the rest of season 6.
